Wright Holding Steady

Once Crestwood safety Damien Wright received that all-important first offer, the flow just continued from there. Currently Wright garners tenders from Vanderbilt, Duke, USC and Clemson, with more sure to come.

"I have [official] offers from Vanderbilt, Newberry [College], and Duke," stated Wright. "USC and Clemson said [the official papers] are on its way."

Despite the recent interest, Wright doesn't claim a solid list of favorites. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound, hard-hitting safety is just taking everything in at this point and enjoying the entire recruiting process.

"I don't really have a leader right now," Wright said. "I'm just trying to enjoy it right now."

Due to this uncertainty, by the end of this summer Wright would like to have established a solid top five. The All-Area selection will consider many factors while narrowing things down, as well as absorb his parents' feelings on the matter.

"My parents will have a lot to do with my decision," remarked Wright. "They want me to stay close to home, but they are pretty much leaving the rest up to me. I want to talk to the coaches and see how their coaching staff is, and how their football history is, and see how many [players] they have at my position."

Wright has unofficially visited Clemson and South Carolina. He plans to visit Vanderbilt, Duke and Georgia in the future, while also camping at USC and Clemson this summer.
