Clemson vs. Miami Notes

Clemson will battle the Miami Hurricanes tonight in the championship game of the Paradise Jam Basketball Tournament this evening at 7:45 PM. Tony Stockman figures to see limited action due to his injury suffered against LaSalle.

Tony Stockman, Clemson's leading returning scorer from last season will likely see limited action due to a bruised knee suffered in last night's 81-69 win over the LaSalle Explorers. Chey Christie will probably get significant minutes in place of Stockman.

The Hurricanes have an outstanding power forward in Darius Rice (a McDonald's All-American in high school). Rice is averaging 21 points a game and is a monster on the boards and figures to be defended by Chris Hobbs.

Miami defeated Eastern Michigan by 37 points in the opening round, and then defeated UAB by 2 last night. The Tigers advanced by taking care of business against Morris Brown and LaSalle.

The Hurricanes, led by former Tulane coach Perry Clark finished the 2000-01 campaign at 16-13.
