"We had a tape with UCLA's address on it and was going to send it out later this week because our spring practice finally ended," North Augusta coach Joe Long said.

"Recruiting sort of fell to the backburner over the last two weeks because of our offseason drills. We've got about 15-20 other schools that have requested film and we're going to get those out later this week."

More than 50 college scouts came to North Augusta over the last three weeks to observe Byrd, fellow senior WR/DB Myles Potter and junior LB Marcus Jackson.

Vanderbilt, Duke, Air Force and Navy are actively recruiting Potter, who led North Augusta in interceptions last year and is ranked No. 1 in his class academically.

Defensive line coach Ron West is recruiting Byrd to Clemson. We will continue to keep you updated on this talented athlete, right up through signing day.
