Jordan Hemby, a 5'11, 179-pound athlete, is a D-I caliber prospect from Morganton, North Carolina. A quick defensive back, Hemby recently recorded a laser timed 4.54 forty just over a week ago at the Adidas Combine in Raleigh. Hemby also recorded a vertical jump of 35' off of two feet and benched 185 20 times at the Adidas Combine.
Thanks to performances like this, Hemby has begun to receive interest from a host of schools around the region. To date, Hemby has received interest from Virginia Tech, Tennessee, North Carolina, Wake Forest, NC State, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Clemson, and Maryland. Hemby currently has no favorites in his recruitment.
No official offers have come through just yet, but don't expect that to last too much longer. "Not quite any offers, but my coach said some will probably offer at camps," Hemby said. "This Sunday is the Clemson one-day. After that the Wake camp, UT camp, then NC State camp."
Along with attending camps this summer, Hemby plans to work on a couple aspects of his game as well. "I'm working on getting my weight up a little more and getting faster, quicker, and stronger," he said.
Hemby, who recorded 62 tackles and around seven interceptions this past season, has three main criteria in picking his college in the future. "I'm looking at location, their football program, and the education they provide," he said.
Hemby, who benches 280, squats 415, and hang cleans 315, has no timeline as to when he would like to make his college decision.
