Maryland Prospect to Visit Clemson in June

Waldorf (Md.) Westlake defensive tackle Derrell Jones watched as most of the month of May breezed by without a new offer placed on the table. That all changed when Connecticut and Clemson recently came to the rescue.

"The head Coach from UConn came down Tuesday and gave me the offer paper," stated Jones who already claims offers from North Carolina, Syracuse and Pittsburgh. "And Clemson offered me verbally last Friday but when they called me today they said that they put it in writing."

Currently, Jones favors two schools, but he admits things could change drastically with every unofficial visit he takes.

"Syracuse and Pittsburgh are my leaders," Jones said. "The only reason why I didn't choose the other schools that offered me is because I haven't seen the colleges and seen the atmosphere of North Carolina, Clemson and UConn."

Jones plans to change that with a very busy month of June. The 6-foot-3, 294-pounder is set to visit UNC on June 12th, Clemson on June 13th, and Maryland on June 17th. Additionally, he plans to revisit Pittsburgh on either June 18 or June 19th and make his first trip to Penn State sometime between June 20th and June 26th. Top Stories
