Monta Ellis, SG, Magnolia Stars: He went out and scored 17 in the first half and 37 for the game against the Michigan Mustangs who simply didn't have a guard that could slow him down, much less stay in front of him. The guy creates shots, has range and credit him for going hard and getting after it at both ends. He reminds you of Anthony Roberson with his shot selection at times, but the guy can flat out play.
Byron Eaton, PG, Dallas Mustangs: It wasn't like it was his best game ever and we had him for 20 points and 9 assists against Team Richmond. He's strong and a big time finisher. He can get in trouble when he leaves his feet to pass but on the plus side he puts a lot of pressure on defenses with his jaunts into the paint.
Tyler Smith, SF, Southeast Elite: He's asked to do a lot for his team and that meant he had to get 28 points in a blowout loss Friday night. His jumper wasn't on the mark but he used his strength and athleticism to create scoring chances.
Courtney Fells, SG, Magnolia Stars: The guy is 6-6 and has range past the 3-point arc. His stroke is extremely smooth and he's one of those thoroughbred looking shooters. He's playing on a new AAU team so there's an adjustment period to go through but his stroke would go down consistently if you put him on any roster.
Antonio Anderson, SG, New England Playaz: He's an extremely versatile guard who really can fill a stat sheet with the best of them. Against New Heights the young man had 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. He can get a little careless with his passes and reacts too much to the refs, but the guy has passion and is talented. Our first look at him was a good one.
Tomas Jasiulionis, C, Team Richmond: Never heard of him? We hadn't either until Friday night. It wasn't like he played a ton of minutes but when he was in there he showed a soft touch to 10 feet, good hands and a huge body at 6-10 and 230 pounds. Practically no one is recruiting him and this was his first time out with the team. The native of Lithuania is a prospect, likely starting his interest at the mid-major level but he could go higher.
Lance Thomas, PF/SF, New Heights: With two players leaving the team, the bulk of the scoring was left up to him and 24 points later he showed what his game is about. Thomas right now is a four-man with the chance to transition to the small forward. He can make shots to mid-range and is an instinctive player. His aggressiveness gets him to the line a ton.
