Banks Leads Giants to a State Title

QB James Banks proved why is one of the top ranked quarterbacks in the country Saturday evening, leading Ben Davis to the Indiana Class 5A State Championship. Banks has already set one official visit to Tennessee, the others will probably fall into place quickly.

James Banks, a 6-3, 191-pound senior quarterback, passed for two touchdowns and threw for another to spark the top-ranked Giants to a 35-16 victory over No. 5 Valparaiso for the Class 5A state championship in the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.

"I never knew it would feel this great to go out with a state championship. This was my last game of my high school career. I knew it would take 110 percent to win," said Banks.

Banks finished the day 5-9 passing for 84 yards and a touchdown and 16 rushing attempts for 118 yards and one more score.

James Banks has already set an official visit to Tennessee the weekend of December 7th, the other schools are yet to be determined, but will more than likely come from the following: Clemson, Miami, Michigan, Purdue, and Notre Dame.

Banks maintains his status as one of the true "playmakers" in high school football this season. Overall he is ranked as the #8 prospect in the country.

Speaking with his head coach Dick Dulligan, earlier this year, he indicated that he believed Clemson would be a good fit for Banks' style of play. Lets just hope that translates at least into an official visit.
