"I enjoyed it a lot. I like the coach staff a lot. I really like it up there, it seems like a really nice school."

Russell currently stands in with an offer from Duke, but Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Maryland have been showing strong interest as of late.

As far as favorites go, several schools stand out heading into the summer. "I really know I'm interested in Clemson," said Russell. Probably Tech and Duke also. Other than that I'm not really sure right now."

"I'm getting ready for football in the fall. We should be getting started on July 18th."

Russell rushed the ball 100 times for 573 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior for Marist. He also brought in 6 receptions for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns.

He's also looking forward to workouts with his team this summer. "We will be running as a team," said Russell. "We haven't done that before. Lifting as a team, and we are going to a speed camp."

As far as recruiting goes, Russell says that his play on the field should take care of things.

"We'll have to wait till season starts when more teams get to see me play. Hopefully then I'll get some offers." Top Stories
