Head coach Oliver Purnell received another big commitment earlier today when Oak Hill Academy guard K.C. Rivers, a native of Charlotte, NC, committed to Clemson.
Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Florida were also showing in recent weeks.
Rivers had a somewhat up-and-down season at Oak Hill as the lone junior to receive extensive playing time. Known as a good long-range shooter, he showed his stroke when he broke the school record with 15 triefctas in a game against Bishop McGuiness late in the year.
"We have a media guide at Oak Hill and in the summer, I look at the record and set out to break it," Rivers said. "All I needed was a little work."
Rivers averaged over 20 points as a sophomore in high school and was named to the all-tournament team at the 2002 Dell Curry Shootout.
Rivers is ranked as the 94th best prospect in the country by industry leading expert Dave Telep.
