Clemson Adds Second Verbal Commitment

The Clemson Tigers received their second verbal commitment for the 2005 recruiting class earlier today when Tyler Grisham committed to assistant coach Dabo Swinney. Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Southern Miss, and Tennessee were all showing interest in Grisham before he made his decision.

Grisham, who stands in at just under 6-feet tall, and weighs 185 pounds, had 336 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns last year for Spain Park High School in Hoover, Alabama. He also excelled as a free safety on defense last season, where he recorded 60 tackles and 5 interceptions on the season.

He committed to Clemson wide receivers' coach Dabo Swinney earlier today during one of the Tigers' 3-day summer camps.

Grisham, who has 4.44 speed in the 40-yard dash, becomes the second verbal commitment for the Tigers for the 2005 recruiting class. Clemson has also secured the commitment of offensive lineman Barry Humphries of Belton-Honea Path.

Grisham will likely be given the opportunity to play receiver at Clemson, but he can also play in the secondary.

We will have much more on Tyler Grisham and his commitment, including a full Q&A up later today! For now, make sure you check the The Valley for additional news and notes on future Tiger Tyler Grisham!

Grisham is also expected to be a full qualifier.
