WR Eric Huggins
6-3, 185, 4.4
Conway High School
Conway, South Carolina
Conway's Eric Huggins, one of the top receivers in the southeast this year, made a verbal commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners just a few weeks ago.
When asked if he is still committed to OU, Huggins responded in a recent interview with CUTigers.com, "Yes sir. I'm definitely committed to Oklahoma."
How firm is his early commitment?
"Very firm," said Huggins. "I am going to Oklahoma. I am not looking at any other schools. I'm done."
Many have wondered why the South Carolina standout decided to leave the Palmetto state. After all, several schools including Clemson, South Carolina, and many of the top programs up and down the east coast were interested in his services.
For Huggins, the decision was made during a spring time trip to Norman.
"I wanted to go there for a long time. I went up there to visit Norman and everything was cool. They have a great football program and they are also good academically."
"Nobody pressured me," added Huggins. "I just want to go to Oklahoma. I'm not sure what this talk on the Internet is about. It's all about what we want as players, not any coach or anything like that."
And where does Eric think his talented teammate Hivera Green will end up when the recruiting process is said and done? "He will probably end up at Michigan. That is who he likes right now."
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding receiver, right up through signing day 2005.
