Tigers Make Top 5 for Atlanta WR

Jarvis Smith stands at 6-feet-1 inch tall, weighs 180 pounds and claims a 4.45-4.5 40 time. Some schools are recruiting Smith at wide receiver and some at defensive back. With that being the case, Coach Cantrell of Douglass will play Smith both ways this year.

WR Jarvis Smith
6-1, 180, 4.45
Douglass High School
Atlanta, Georgia

Who has offered Smith?

"I have offers from Clemson, Oklahoma State, Connecticut and Ole Miss so far."

What other schools are on the trail of Mr. Smith?

"Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi State, Maryland, Georgia Tech and North Carolina State are on me pretty hard. I feel those schools will offer me before it is over with. Other than working out and practicing four times a week, I have attended a few camps. I have already been to Alabama and Clemson camps, and I will camp at Oklahoma State and Auburn in July."

How does Smith feel about his game?

"My strengths are the energy I bring, hype on the field, and playing smart. My weakness is just not much experience as a defensive back. I want to work at that as much as possible. I always want to get better to help my teammates now and help me make it on the next level."

So, what teams sit atop Jarvis Smith's list?

"My top schools would be Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Georgia, Florida, Clemson, Oklahoma State and Mississippi State."

What will factor into his decision?

"Style of play, campus environment, depth charts. That is about it. I am willing to go anywhere and play anywhere. Distance is no factor for me. I plan to make my decision towards the end of January after taking my five visits."

Smith is in great shape academically and projects as a full qualifier.
