The Scoop
After redshirting his freshman year, Clint LaTray will work behind Tommy Sharpe and Dustin Fry at center in 2004.

Key Points
  • LaTray enters his first season of action with two quality players ahead of him on the depth chart. While he'll push for playing time in 2004, look for him to make more of an impact in 2005 and 2006.

  • LaTray has good size and decent speed for a big offensive lineman and he's played against some of the top competition in the country out in Texas. He has great footwork and can also play a number of positions, including both guard and center.

  • Starting center Tommy Sharpe says of LaTray, "He has real good footwork. I think once he develops more physically, he will be a lot better player. During the summer camp last year, they let him play some at center he did really well. He just needs to physically develop."

With continued work in the weight room, LaTray could easily prove to be an outstanding pick up from the Lone Star state in the coming seasons. However in 2004, he's looking up at Dustin Fry and Tommy Sharpe on the depth chart.
