Greenwood High School
Greenwood, South Carolina

The 6-4, 180 pound prospect traveled to Athens on Friday and Saturday. "I went down for the camp on Friday and Saturday. Everything went well," said Coates in a recent interview with CUTigers.com.

When asked if Georgia offered during the visit, Coates responded, "Yes sir, they did. They told me they like me a lot and I fit in great with their system."

The Tigers and Dawgs are both recruiting Coates primarily as a safety.

Now that the Dawgs have offered the talented defender can chose between his two favorites. "I still have 2 number 1's. Clemson and Georgia are my top 2."

The Greenwood standout will now spend the next few weeks working on his decision.

"I will talk with my family about the decision. I want to see where I fit in the best. I will look at the depth charts and also who is coming in next year."

When will he make his commitment?

"I still plan to make my decision before the season. I will try to take my time over the next few weeks. I don't want to rush anything. I will probably commit sometime in August."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defensive back from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2005.
