CUTigers.com has confirmed that Tallahassee native OL Quentez Ruffin has committed to the Clemson Tigers. As reported on Thursday, this commitment was somewhat expected. Ruffin visited the Tigers unofficially earlier in the week, and left Clemson with a clear leader and a commitment timeframe in place.

"I wanted to commit by the end of the week," said Ruffin.

When asked about his visit to Clemson, Ruffin said, "I really liked Coach Scott. I also liked Coach Burns and Coach Swinney. I didn't get to meet Coach Bowden. They tried to get him on the phone but couldn't. I look forward to meeting him when I come up again."

Ruffin becomes the 7th verbal commitment to the Tigers in the 2005 class, and the 2nd offensive linemen.

"The facilities were world class," added Ruffin. "I can only imagine how it will be when they open the up the West End Zone. I would really like to play there," said Ruffin.

Quentez's parents also came away very impressed with the Tigers.

"They really liked the visit to Clemson. They liked the coaches. The really liked the athletic support they give to players. My parents also like the visits to Georgia, Florida and LSU but I think they liked Clemson a little more."

Ruffin, who was recruited to Clemson primarily by Dabo Sweeney, claimed offers from Clemson, LSU, South Florida, Central Florida, North Carolina State, Kansas State, Louisville, South Carolina.
