6-3, 291, 4.9
Belton, South Carolina
As previously reported, Barry Humphries (6-3, 295, 4.9) of Belton Honea-Path, committed to Clemson on 5/24, passing up offers from North Carolina, Maryland, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and South Carolina. He says the Tar Heels were his number two pick, but the choice wasn't difficult.
"I really liked Clemson growing up," said Humphries. "It's close to home so I can always go home to see my family and my mom can come to games."
"I went to their camps when I was 10 and 11 and since they're close, we used to go watch their football games so I know the campus really well. I really like it because it's a beautiful campus and it's in a really small quiet town."
Barry is being recruited for OG or OC. Clemson coaches told him he lacks the height they want for their OTs.
"I'm really good at moving people out of the way, pass blocking and run blocking. I honestly can't really think of anything I need to improve right now, but I'm sure the coaches at Clemson will critique me a lot and think of things."
