The Scoop
Adrian Kindred is a hard-hitting safety that the Clemson coaching staff is very high on entering his freshman year in Tiger Town. At his size, Kindred is the type of player could eventually grow into more of a true linebacker.

Key Points
  • "He was the best football player on that team," said Clemson wide receivers' coach Dabo Swinney. "He's only lost like 3 football games his whole high school career. I think he'll have a chance to play for us next year. He's an absolute hard-hitting physical safety that could be rover/whip guy."

  • Kindred is known as a hard hitter, and reportedly, he split two helmets during his high school career at Opelika after crashing into the ball carrier. With his size and speed, it's not hard to forecast Kindred appearing somewhere on the two-deep depth chart later this fall.

  • "As soon as I got here I felt at home," said Kindred during an interview with CUTigers.com after his official visit to Clemson earlier this year. "I was excited about the atmosphere." Kindred was hosted by starting free safety Travis Pugh.

    Outlook
The Tigers have somewhat of a logjam at the rover and whip positions headed into fall practice. Jamaal Fudge and Tavaghn Monts lead the way at rover while senior Eric Sampson, Tramaine Billie, and walk-on Lionel Richardson are running the show at the whip linebacker. Based on sheer numbers, it appears as though Kindred would be headed towards a redshirt season. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a potential sleeper in the 2004 class that sneak up and see playing time as a true freshman, Kindred would be it.
