Redskins Sign Former Tiger

The Redskins announced the signing of offensive lineman and former Clemson Tigers Dwayne Morgan earlier this week. Morgan has spent extensive time in the Canadian Football League and the NFL during his professional career.

Last season, Morgan spent the year with the Atlanta Falcons and played in five games. He made his NFL debut against the New York Giants last November on special teams and went on to play in the next four games.

Morgan injured his knee in his fifth game and was subsequently placed on injured reserve.

Prior to joining the NFL, Morgan spent significant time in the Canadian Football League. He originally joined the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 1996. He played in 38 games with Hamilton in 1996 and 1998-99 and saw action in six games with Toronto and 12 games with Montreal in 2000.

Before joining the CFL, Morgan had a standout career at Clemson. In Washington, he will take the roster spot of tight end Sean Brewer, who was released earlier this week.
