"I'm leaning a little bit towards basketball. I great up playing it, and I love it," says the 6-foot-7, 198 pounder who has offers from schools in both sports and offers for just one or the other. "Florida State for both sports, Georgia for both sports, then the USC, College of Charleston, Liberty, High Point for basketball. For football it is Florida State, Georgia, Clemson, and USC."

He does not know if he will play two sports in college, though the opportunity is there. Official visits this fall could help him make that decision.

"I'm going to start at the end of the month. I've got one the last week of August to High Point (for basketball)."

Kingtree head coach Walt Wilson believes Gray has the ability to play either sport in college.

"I think Chad is a real special kid. He has some God-gifted talent that is kind of unstoppable," says Wilson. "I really feel that he is special at football, because his attributes are hard to find, but in basketball he is special also. He went down to the nationals in Orlando and averaged 20 (points per game). He is just a gifted kid."

Gray says he is open to all schools at the moment, and Coach Wilson thinks that there is more to the situation than just being open.

"Chad is a one of a kind," Wilson admits. "He is really not shook by much, and I say that because Florida State offered him, and he didn't tell his mom. He is just nonchalant, and I feel that it has not kicked in yet." Top Stories
