Quentez Ruffin, a 6-foot-4, 290 pound prospect out of Tallahasse, Florida has received several new offers since committing to Clemson earlier this summer. "I got an offer from Central Florida in writing. I also picked up offers from Arkansas and Illinois," said Ruffin in an interview with

When asked if his commitment to the Tigers is still firm, the prize recruit responded, "I'm still firm. I'm just going to take one official visit and that will be to Clemson on their big weekend."

The Leon High standout has been working hard with his teammates to prepare for the upcoming season. "We just finished two-a-days. We're looking pretty good. We should be state champs if everyone stays healthy."

Ruffin has also stayed in good shape over the summer. "I'm staying right around 290," said the rising senior. "We weigh in before and after each practice and I've been right between 290 and 292."

The Tallahassee star is hoping to convince his talented teammate T.J. Williams to commit to the Tigers.

"He's still thinking about it," said Ruffin. "I hope he makes a decision before our slots fill up. I think that's where he wants to go but he wants to see if Florida State will offer. That's where his brother goes. I don't think Florida State will offer because they have some people higher on their board that haven't gotten offers yet."

Ruffin will travel to Clemson in September to see the Tigers play a night game.

"I'm coming up for Georgia Tech game. I'm going to try to bring T.J. with me. I know all the games are packed, but I can only imagine how it will be at night. It should be a good game. I want to see them play someone with the same kind of talent."

The summer is over for the Florida standout as school begins this week. "We start school tomorrow morning. The summer went by so fast. I just seems like yesterday was the first day."
