Friday Evening Practice Report

The Clemson Tigers hit the practice fields again earlier this afternoon and has the latest, live from Clemson University.

The Tigers practiced in shorts and shoulder pads Friday afternoon for approximately two hours. The practice was shorter than normal due to tomorrow's scrimmage.

Wide Receivers Depth Chart
Head coach Tommy Bowden went through a brief run down of his wide receivers this afternoon during his daily meeting with the media.

"The two most consistent guys have been Airese and Chansi," said Bowden. "Chansi's work ethic in going to wide out has been relentless. Airese, with this being his last shot, he's really picked it up since last summer."

The current starters at wide receiver would look something like this: X - Kelvin Grant, H - Airese Currie, Y - Chansi Stuckey, and Z - Curtis Baham. The second team would be X - Gerald McCloud, H - La'Donte Harris, Y - Curtis Baham/Chris Jefferson, and Z - Aaron Kelly.

Bowden added that Kelvin Grant has looked strong the last few days of practice.

Scrimmage Preparations
Bowden said that tomorrow's scrimmage will likely be the last scrimmage before the season opener against Wake Forest on September 4th. Also, the sixth year head coach said he held up on post-practice conditioning this afternoon.

"We ran really really hard yesterday, and will run tomorrow after the scrimmage," said Bowden.

Bowden added that once again he'd like to see the defense dominate tomorrow, but at the same time, he's also hoping for some big plays from his skill position players.

"We'd like to score touchdowns instead of field goals. You'd like to see the defense have the upper hand, those are some of the main things."
