QB Cameron Sexton

Scotland High School
Laurinburg, North Carolina

Though the Laurinburg (N.C.) Scotland County quarterback is making headway in the recruiting process and still plans to enroll early, he is not ready to make a decision before his season starts this weekend.

"I'm definitely going to take some official visits and I'd like to get it over after those," says the 6-foot-2, 185 pounder. "So I'm looking at a possible early November decision."

Sexton will most likely choose from Clemson, Florida State, NC State, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech. At the moment, he plans to visit at least three of those schools.

"I've not finalized everything yet, but I think I will be in Clemson on September the 4th, I believe that is the date. I don't have the list, but for sure it will be Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Florida State and they will all be in September.

"I believe there is a week off. I believe it is the Clemson/Wake game (9/4), Virginia Tech/Duke (9/18), and then the Florida State/North Carolina game (10/2) or the week before (against Clemson, 9/25). I'm pretty sure it is North Carolina."

That leaves the two in-state schools out in the cold for official visits, which Sexton felt he could do with the number of times he has visited both North Carolina and NC State over the past year.

"If I end up having time, though, I will probably take officials to those two."
