QB James Banks Names a Leader

One of the nation's finest quarterback prospects is James Banks from Indianapolis, Indiana. He stars for Ben Davis High School. Banks led his team to an unbeaten record of 15-0 and a state championship. He threw for over 2,000 yards and accounted for 35 touchdowns through the air and on the ground.

"I am an athletic QB that is a good athlete," said Banks. "I make things happen on the ground and in the air."

James Banks, 6-3 and 200 pounds, took his first official visit this weekend. He tripped to Knoxville to see the Tennessee Volunteers.

"I really like Coach Fulmer. He is down to earth and he had the biggest impact on me. Coach Fulmer is personable and sincere. I had a chance to be around the guys and I got a sense they have a lot of team unity... all for one and one for all. The coaches were great and Tennessee just has a super atmosphere.

"They are my front runner but that was also my first visit. It is hard to get a total assessment in two days."

Banks will visit Michigan (1-11) and Virginia Tech (1-18). He is also considering Purdue, Miami, Clemson, Notre Dame and Florida State. His visits will be predicated on his basketball schedule.
