The 6-foot-2, 180-pound quarterback had another outstanding effort Friday night, but Scotland High came up just short. "It went well," said Sexton. "We lost by 1 point. We scored a touchdown and went for two points with just 15 seconds left. We ran a sweep to the right but had a fumble. We lost to the defending state champs." Sexton had another outstanding individual performance however, "I was 22-30 passing for 275 yards and two touchdowns," he said.

After taking an official visit to Clemson for the Wake Forest game, Sexton has considered visiting Virginia Tech last weekend. "I did not go, but I plan to go later on this season.

"I am also going to take an unofficial visit to North Carolina State this weekend to see them play Ohio State. Right now I also have an official visit scheduled for Florida State on September 25 to see them play against Clemson. And I will take an official visit to Virginia Tech later this season."

The Laurinburg standout spoke with Coach Burns earlier in the evening. "I just got off the phone with Coach Burns. He was just checking in with me. He was asking about my game last weekend. He also talked about the Georgia Tech game. He talked a lot about leadership."
