Byrd's Next Stop: Clemson - FSU

C.J. Byrd has been making the rounds to college games throughout the south, and this weekend his travels found him in Athens, GA. What did he think of the visit?

"It was pretty good. I like the game and the fans. My favorite part was all the fans knowing who I was. That was really neat. I got to talk to Coach Richt for a while and they really showed my family a lot of love," C.J. Byrd said.

Has this changed things in his top 5?

"I like Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Clemson and USC. I don't have a leader."

What stands out about those 5 schools?

Florida: "I like Chris Leak, their offense and the coaches."

Florida St: "I like the overall program and Bobby Bowden."

Georgia: "It's not too far from home and they really have a great coach."

Clemson: "It's in-state, I have a former teammate there and they have a great offense."

USC: "I decided to get one far away team and it might as well be big time if I'm going to go away for school."

Byrd and his team have both seen a slow start to their season.

"The season has been OK. Were 1-2 so far and we play (tonight) against Lower Richmond. I've missed one and a half games so far with a high ankle sprain. I think I have about 5 catches and 18 tackles."

C.J. will be in Tallahassee this weekend for the game against Clemson and then back in Athens in 2 weeks for Georgia's showdown with LSU.
