Hemby Planning Clemson Visit

Jordan Hemby really jumped into recruiting this season when he visited several camps over the summer. Each camp the Morganton (N.C.) Freedom cornerback attended summarily ended up with an offer from the different schools.

"He is pretty wide open right now," says Freedom head coach Tim McMahon. "He went to NC State this past weekend and he liked it there. He's visited Clemson and he liked it there. He likes Virginia Tech. He's visited North Carolina, and he liked it there. There are some others and he is keeping that fifth one open, and it could change, and there is no particular order to those four."

Those four schools are in a good position for more visits, but McMahon believes Hemby will keep an open mind for each school.

"Right now, unless anything does change, those four for sure (will get visits). He's pretty wide open."

The Freedom Patriots are doing well this season despite trouble off the field. Sitting at 2-1 on the year, and let by Shrine Bowl candidates Sam Kidd and Chris Taylor in addition to Hemby, the team is working hard to push past the distractions.

"We are doing fine. We had some flood issues and lost all our equipment. The fieldhouse was underwater, but we came back last Thursday, had a good game, and beat Ashbrook. Of course we have a big game on Friday, we play Davie County so it should be a good game."
