Davis Says Hokies & Vols?

James Davis of Douglass High School in Atlanta is one of the most sought after running backs in the south. Davis claims well over fifty written offers and has it down to around six teams, but two now lead.

One team that he hasn't mentioned in the past has now stepped up to be a leader. Who are his top two and when could J.D. make his commitment? "My top two are Tennessee and Virginia Tech," said Davis.

What has brought the Hokies to the front from out of nowhere?

"Just me getting comfortable with the coaches, their recent years of putting backs in the NFL and their current depth chart. All those things are big to me."

Tennessee has been a main stay at the top of his list…what does he like about the Vols?

"They are on me very hard and have been for a while, so I like that. They also have a lot of upper classmen at running back."

After Virginia Tech and Tennessee, who else is Davis considering?

"Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and Georgia are still in the mix a little."

Davis attended the Clemson / Georgia Tech game earlier this year, has he been anywhere since?

"Not yet, but I will be at Georgia when they play Tennessee in two weeks. We just have so many Saturday games, it makes it hard to get out."

When could TheInsiders expect a commitment from Mr. Davis?

"I am not really sure. I am one of those guys that could commit on the spot if I feel it is the right situation for me. I will take some visits and then see what happens."

Davis, along with his many blue chip teammates have Douglass off to a 4-1 start. He has 800 plus yards on the year and ten touchdowns. Davis and the rest of the Astros will play Stephenson this weekend.
