Tigers Checking on 6-5 WR

Jared Cook is a two-sport star out of Suwannee, GA. He has offer(s) to play both football and basketball in college. This tall, rangy athlete has a few more offers to play basketball than he does football, but that may be about to change. Who may be on the verge of offering and who does Cook name as his leader?

"Right now, my only offer is Mississippi State, but a few other schools look like they may be getting ready to offer," said Cook.

What teams is he talking about?

"Clemson, Georgia and Ole Miss seem like they may be offering soon. It is hard to tell, but those three are really recruiting me pretty hard. Some other teams are recruiting me, but those three stick out more than the rest."

Who are Cook's favorites and is he ready to name a leader?

"My top schools are, Clemson, Mississippi State, Georgia and Ole Miss. Those are my top four, but I would have to say Mississippi State is my leader. They were the first to offer me and that means a lot."

Cook has four offers to play basketball in college from schools like Missouri, Nebraska and a few more. Does he want to play both sports at the next level?

"I have thought about that a little, but I think I am going to just play football in college. That is how I feel right now anyway."

Does Cook have plans this weekend?

"Yes sir, I will be at the LSU / Georgia game Saturday."

Is Cook getting closer to a decision?

"No sir, I am not even close. I am going to wait out the season and see what my options are."

Cook is a very athletic receiver that is really just getting his feet wet at this position. Coach Roland is in his first year at North Gwinnett and has brought in the "Hal Mumme" (spread) offense as he calls it. This is the first year that the Bulldogs have thrown the ball around like that. With that, Cook is off to a good first half of the season with over 400 yards receiving and four touchdowns. North Gwinnett is off to a 4-1 start as they get ready for the second half of the season.

Cook is someone you Insiders should really keep an eye on these next couple months as recruiting heats up. Cook is a 6'5, 208 pound WR that may become a hot name around the south. Check in with us at TheInsiders.com for all the latest on Peach State Wide Out.
