McElrathbey: Tigers Still Leading

Atlanta standout Ramon McElrathbey continues his impressive senior campaign as he narrows his list of favorites. Who are the current favorites? Where will the talented cornerback take official visits? Find out the details in this recruiting update.

ATH Ramon McElrathbey
5-11, 180, 4.5
Mays High School
Atlanta, Georgia

The 5-11, 180 pound prospect has narrowed his list of favorites. "Clemson and Auburn are the leaders," McElrathbey told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. Vanderbilt has also recently offered the prize recruit.

One SEC power has been dropped from the list of leaders for the talented prospect. "Florida is dropping off. I haven't talked to them in a while."

The Mays High star athlete has shown his toughness this season, as he has played injured since the first game. "I had a hairline fracture during the first game of the season. It's trying to get better. I keep playing on it. I haven't given it enough time to heal. I want to keep playing."

McElrathbey had another impressive performance last weekend. "I had 144 yards passing. I also had 1 touchdown and 1 interception. We are now 3 and 3 on the season."

The Jackets got another chance to impress the star athlete this weekend. "I went to Georgia Tech to see them play Miami this weekend. I stayed for about a half. It was real hot. They have the recruits sit right in the sun. If I go back to a game at Tech it will be a night game.

"I'm not going anywhere on Saturday. I take the SAT on Saturday and we play Saturday afternoon."

The Georgia standout is not sure about all of his official visits, but he is certain about one visit. "I know I will visit Clemson. That is one definite. I'm not sure if I will visit Auburn. I've been to Auburn on numerous occasions. I told Coach Burns I would definitely take one to Clemson. I think James Davis and I are going to visit at the same time."

Coach Burns is recruiting McElrathbey for the Tigers. "He called me on Monday. He talked about how they are going through some tough times. He said they are keeping me in mind."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding athlete from Georgia, right up through signing day 2005.
