Clay Returns from Athens

Antonio Clay was once committed to the Sooners of Oklahoma, but since then has backed off his commitment to re-open his recruitment. Clay took an official visit out to Norman a few weeks ago for his first official visit. His second official visit is now complete and that was to the University of Georgia. Clay feels us in on how his trip to Athens went this past weekend and tells us when he will have his decision.

"Man, it was great," said Clay.

"I had a lot of fun. I actually went into this visit with expectations that really were not that high, but came out very impressed."

What are some of the things that stood out to Mr. Clay?

"So many things to be honest. The Coaches are amazing there at Georgia. They make you feel so comfortable. I got to have dinner with Coach Van Gorder and Coach Martinez and that was real cool.

"The dawg walk really stood out also. I have never seen anything like that before. All the fans cheering for their team before they are even on the field. So many fans were calling out my name and stuff too; it was crazy."

"The dorms are just top of the line. They are like having your own apartment." "The stadium was rocking too…it was electric. It was so loud and wild that I almost dropped my coke because the stadium was shaking at one time. The fans were crazy."

"Last, my chance to really meet the coaches. That was great for me because I just had a chance to meet Coach Richt. He is an amazing guy. He made me feel so comfortable and everything. I just felt like I could fit right in at Georgia."

How does Clay rate his trip to Georgia?

"I would give it an eight or so. It was great. The only reason I am not giving it higher is probably because I was a little uncertain about them at first. I now have a different outlook on Georgia. I honestly don't know if you can get any better than this."

Does this change his anything in his list of favorites?

"No sir, they are all still even. In no order, Oklahoma, Georgia, Miami, Clemson and Maryland are the schools I am considering. I will take my three remaining official visits in the next four weeks and make my decision in mid-November."

Antonio Clay was hosted by Georgia defensive back, Tra Battle. He hung out with Josh Johnson and Charles Johnson a lot too.

Clay will take an unofficial to Florida State this weekend when they play Virginia. He will then trip to Clemson on October 22, Maryland October 30 and Miami on November 6.

Keep your eye on Mr. Clay and he will have his decision made within a month or so. He has offers from all his favorites and will have his commitment for you as soon as it breaks. Top Stories
