Sexton Continues Impressive Season

Cameron Sexton, one of the top quarterbacks in the South, will be enrolling somewhere in January. When will the talented quarterback make his decision? caught up with the gunslinger, and we've got the latest in this recruiting update.

The 6-2, 180 pound prospect is having an outstanding season leading Scotland High to a 5-2 record. "Last week I was 15 of 23 for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns. For the season I have been 65 of 109 for over 1300 yards and 17 touchdowns," Sexton told in a recent interview.

The senior signal caller has already taken official visits to Florida State and Clemson. "I went to the State game against Carolina this weekend on an unofficial visit. I have 3 official visits left, but I'm not sure if I will take any. If I do it will be to Virginia Tech later this season."

When will the prize recruit make his commitment? "I don't know. I am graduating early so it's coming down to the wire. I will probably make my decision my the middle of November," said Sexton.

The North Carolina standout is not sure what role distance will play in his decision. "I'm getting anxious. Am I going to be 9 or 10 hours away? It's not that big a deal. It's just something you have to get use to.

"I don't have a leader. It's the same top five schools. It's Clemson, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Florida State."

Coach O'Cain is working hard to get the star quarterback to select the Tigers.

"Coach O'Cain called tonight. We have our huge rivalry game this weekend. We talked about that game. We talked about how Charlie is doing. I had some questions about how things are going at Clemson. He told me that offensively they were hurt by graduation. He said they hoped to finish strong. The have finished strong in the past."
