The Tigers already have one commitment from Stratford High standout Haydrian Lewis, but another former Stratford prospect is hoping the Tigers and some others will give him a look now that he is ready to qualify.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect is working hard in the classroom this year at Stratford, but he is not able to play this season. "I'm not playing this year. I have already finished my high school football. I am in school this year to make the grades so I can play in college. My coach didn't tell me about the NCAA clearing house last year, but I'm going to graduate in December," said Gladness.

Gladness has the test score to qualify, but he is working to bring up his GPA so he can qualify. "I have a 960 on my SAT. I got my grades yesterday. My lowest grade was an 85. I'm just trying to make a B average."

The talented cornerback had an outstanding senior season last year. "I had 55 tackles and 9 interceptions last season. I also had 4 fumble recoveries and a blocked kick."

Gladness returned 2 of his interceptions for touchdowns last season.

The talented cornerback has been in contact with the Clemson coaching staff. "I went to the Clemson game this week against Utah State. I talked with coach Burns and Coach Blackwell. They said they would keep in touch with me. They told me to come back to the next home game. I sent them a highlight tape a month ago. They are looking at it and said they would talk to me more next game."

The former Stratford standout would love to have the opportunity to play with his good friend Haydrian Lewis again. "I'm a good friend with Haydrian. We had good chemistry last year. He is very good in man coverage."
