OL Roman Fry Update

We've got the latest on one of Clemson's verbal commitments on the offensive line. Roman Fry, out of Ironton, Ohio may be done with his football season, but that doesn't stop him from becoming a better football player.

We've got the latest on Roman Fry (6'4, 255,4.9) straight from his trainer and father, Ed Fry. Fry is a offensive lineman out of Ironton, Ohio who committed to the Tigers back in December.

"Roman is doing well, his grades are better than ever, he's lifting three days/week and getting bigger and stronger," says Fry.

"He squatted 315 lbs for 20 reps on Christmas Eve, he can single 500 lbs. His goal though is 405 for 20 reps by March. He also runs 2 miles-2 days a week along with daily flexibility work. (By the way he can do a full split.)

Ed tells us that Roman is weighing at 255+ right now and that he is being trained using "old school" methods, concentrating on the basics with a lot of intensity.

Fry is a probable redshirt, but he's preparing himself on the physical level just in case he called into duty as a true freshman. He will be in Clemson this weekend along with 25+ players. Fry was recruited by West Virginia, Indiana, Ohio State, and Wake Forest among other schools.
