5-Star LB to Visit Clemson

Darius Dewberry, one of the top linebackers in the nation, plans to visit Clemson later this month. Who are the favorites for the 5-star linebacker? CUTigers.com caught up with the talented linebacker, and we've got the latest in this recruiting update.

The Peach County High star linebacker was surprised at the Tigers victory over Miami last weekend. "It was a good game. I was surprised Clemson won," said Dewberry in a recent interview with CUTigers.com.

The 6-foot-4, 220 pound prospect continues to lead Peach County. "Our game went all right last week. We won 38-7. I had a good game."

When asked if he has a leader, Dewberry responded, "No sir. I don't have a leader yet."

The 5-star prospect continues to list the same four schools as his favorites. "Georgia, Clemson, Auburn and Florida are my favorites," Dewberry said.

Dewberry has not scheduled any of his official visits. "I will visit all four of my favorites. I will setup the visits after my season is over."

Coach Jack Hines is recruiting the star linebacker for the Tigers. "Coach Hines called on Sunday or Monday. He wanted to know when I was coming up to Clemson. He told me they really want me at Clemson."

When will the prize recruit make his commitment? "I don't even know. It will probably be close to signing day."

The Georgia standout plans to visit the Valley later this month. "I am planning to come up on November 20 to see Clemson play against South Carolina," stated Dewberry.
