LB Eric Houston
6-2, 220, 4.7
Coral Reef High School
The 6-foot-2, 220 pound prospect was disappointed with Coral Reef's performance during his senior season, but his performance got plenty of attention. "It was a long season. Our record was 1-8. I did my best. I led the county in tackles. I also made the Nike All-star team for Dade County game against Broward County," Houston told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.
On the recruiting front, the Tigers have have moved into the top 5 for the Miami standout. "Clemson, Auburn, North Carolina State, West Virginia and Florida are my leaders."
The official visit tour is starting to take shape for the Florida star linebacker. "I've already set official visits with West Virginia, North Carolina State and Auburn so far. I'm not sure if I will set one with Clemson or Florida."
"I am looking for a school with a good tradition. I will also look at the city where the school is located. It doesn't have to be like Miami. I'm looking for a family type of atmosphere."
Houston would like to play with his talented Coral Reef teammate Avery Vogt at the next level. "I want to play with him. It's important, but it's not something that has to happen. If he ends up liking someone else we will go our separate ways."
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding linebacker from Florida, right up through signing day 2005.
