Tiger Coaches Excite GA DT

Fort Valley (GA) DE Larry Cox (6-5, 240, 4.85, 3 stars) now denies a leader but favors Florida, Auburn, Maryland, Georgia and Clemson. All have offered as well as Mississippi, Michigan and Arizona St.

"Right now I don't have a leader," says Cox, from Peach County. "I was not able to do any research on these schools this season, but now that it's over I have the chance to do a lot more. I'm waiting to take my official visits before I make a commitment so that I keep my options open.

"I like the way that Florida works. The coaches and players push you to do the best that you can, but they will still be hard on you. If you go in there and push yourself, the coaches will probably give you the opportunity to compete. They've got a real good athletics program. I'm looking forward to seeing who their coach is.

"Auburn is known for their athletic program. They've got a good coaching staff, and I've gotten to know each of them on a one-to-one basis. They really make you feel at home there.

"Maryland has good academics and athletics. The coaching staff there is awesome too. It's a place where the coaches encourage their players to fit in with each other.

"Georgia just speaks for itself with what they have. They've got some good football history. And not only to they spend money on athletics, but they also spend it on their academics. They spend a good amount of money on tutors to keep the players qualified.

"The coaching staff at Clemson really excites me. They have all written to me personally, explaining how much they want me there. The environment with the fans and the players is great. They also really make you feel at home too. I'm really looking forward to my official visit…it's something that I'll enjoy.

Cox will officially visit Clemson (12/3), Florida, Auburn, Maryland and Georgia.
