Clemson assistant coach Dabo Swinney paid a visit to one of the top athletes in South Carolina earlier today. "Coach Swinney came by the school today. It was good visit. Basically he told me about how he recruits. He also told me more about Clemson," said Chambers in an interview with CUTigers.com Monday evening.

"He said he wants me to take my time and make my decision, but he said I'm taking a gamble. He said he doesn't know why other schools haven't offered. He said they really want me. The class of defensive backs is almost booked. If I don't make a commitment soon I may miss out."

When asked if Clemson is still his leader, Chambers responded, "Yes, Clemson is still my leader right now."

What is the percentage that he will commit to the Tigers? "I would say there is a 95% chance right now."

Chambers has moved up his official visit with the Tigers. "I have moved up the date for my official visit. I was going to visit on January 21 but I moved it up to January 14."

Don't expect Chambers to wait for his official visit to make a decision. "I probably will make my decision before then. I know I will make it before the visit on the 14th. I'm trying not to take too much longer," added the star athlete.

The Tigers remain the sole offer for the Pageland standout, but others continue to show strong interest. "I would like to wait to see who else may offer, but I may not be able to wait. Virginia Tech, Florida State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Maryland and South Carolina are all showing interest. I think Virginia Tech may be close to offering. They asked my coaches to send some more tapes."

The Tigers are likely to look at the Palmetto standout as a defensive back. "They are looking at me for both, but mostly defensive back. I don't care. I just want to play."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding athlete from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2005.
