A former Clemson commitment, has re-committed to the Clemson Tigers.

"I just committed to Clemson," said McElrathbey in an interview with's Scott Kennedy.

"Coach Burns was at my house, and I committed to him. I committed to Clemson because I felt the most comfortable there, and I felt like it was time to make a decision. They were recruiting me the hardest. I felt the most wanted at Clemson. They're recruiting me to play corner."

As far as concerns about McElrathbey changing his mind again, don't bank on it.

"I don't feel any pressure now, and I'm solid to Clemson."

McElrathbey, a projected cornerback at Clemson, becomes the 18th verbal commitment for the Tigers in the 2005 recruiting class. His primary recruiter was Clemson running backs coach Burton Burns.

McElrathbey is the second verbal commitment tonight for the Clemson coaching staff. The Tigers also secured the commitment of Alabama wide receiver Terrell Smith.

Nicknamed, "Ray Ray," McElrathbey will visit the Tigers officially on January 14, and that will be his only official visit. Top Stories
