Kyles Still on the Board at WR

Nick Kyles, one of the top athletes in Georgia, received a visit from the Clemson coaching staff Tuesday night. The prize recruit is not ready to make a commitment, but his father has a definite favorite. CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

Clemson assistant coach Jack Hines traveled to Milledgeville to watch Nick play basketball and visit with his family Tuesday night. "It went well," said Kyles of the visit. "He came by to see my basketball game. I had 17 points tonight. He talked with my dad. He explained everything to my dad."

When asked if he has a leader, Kyles responded, "I don't want to say I have a leader right now. I probably will make my decision after I make my visits."

The official visit schedule is almost set for the talented receiver. "I will visit Clemson on January 14. I am going to Alabama next week. I have Auburn scheduled for January 7 and Georgia will be January 21."

Nick's father enjoyed the visit with Coach Hines. "Coach Hines just left the house. It was his first time by the house. He is the first coach to visit but I'm sure there will be more. He let me know they really want Nick."

The elder Kyles won't make the decision for his son, but it is clear that he would like his son to attend Clemson because of the experience his cousin had with the Tigers.

"I can't make his decision for him. Up until now I've been letting him talk to the coaches. It's going to get crazy now. I asked if he wants to go to Clemson. I thought it wouldn't be bad to keep the legacy going. His first cousin is Leroy Hill. Leroy has been down there. He can tell him that these people do what they say. Leroy can tell him exactly how things are."

"I kind of like Clemson, but I can't tell him he's got to go to Clemson. Everyone is going to start twisting his arms soon."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding receiver from Georgia, right up through signing day 2005.
