Columbia, South Carolina

Mike Davis, a 5-10, 210 pound running back prospect out of Columbia High School visited the North Carolina Tar Heels over the weekend, and continues to receive visits from several coaching staffs around the southeast.

So how did his visit to Chapel Hill go?

"It was good visit. I stayed longer than I had planned. But I had a good time," Davis told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

The Alabama coaching staff traveled to Columbia to meet with Davis earlier this week. "Coach Sparky Woods came by to see me earlier. You could definitely say it was a good visit."

Clemson assistant coach Brad Scott continues to try to convince the talented running back that he should be running down the hill next fall. "Coach Scott called this week. We just talked about school and stuff. It was good."

Davis will get the opportunity to show what he can do against the best players in North and South Carolina and he participates in the Shrine Bowl next week. "I am looking forward to the Shrine Bowl," stated the 4-star running back.

On the recruiting front, when asked if he had a leader, Davis responded, "No, I don't have a leader at this time."

Davis will not likely make a commitment until the end of January. "I want to take all of my visits before I make my decision," added Davis.

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding running back from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2005.
