Shrine Bowl Scoop: J.C. Neal

Wide receiver target J.C. Neal talks about his top schools.

Lakewood High School

* Lakewood ATH J.C. Neal has been one prospect that has seen his stock steadily rise through the course of his senior season. Currently, Neal says that four schools peak his interest. "Right now, it's Virginia Tech, Maryland, N.C. State, and Clemson. N.C. State leads though. I like it up there in Raleigh."

* Neal could play on either side of the ball at the collegiate level, but wide receiver seems to fit his tastes the best. "I want to play in the slot, and that's where a lot of schools are looking at me at. Clemson wants me there, N.C. State wants me there. Maryland was wanting me to play defensive back, or maybe a little of both," said Neal.

* Neal has already visited Virginia Tech and Maryland officially, and will also visit South Carolina, Clemson, and N.C. State in January.

* Neal owns a scholarship offer from Clemson, and the Tigers continue to show significant interest despite carrying four verbal commitments at wide receiver.
