Mike Davis, of Columbia High School, South Carolina, is one of the top running backs on the east coast. Davis will travel to Tuscaloosa for an official visit with the University of Alabama.
"My next official visit is to Alabama on January 7. I had a visit scheduled to Auburn on the 14th, but I had to cancel it. I have two more visits. I don't know where I am going to go. I might take a visit to Clemson, but I don't know yet," said Davis.
The Crimson Tide has received commitments from two running backs, but those commitments will not affect Davis' decision.
"I know about the two running backs that have committed. It won't affect my decision at all. Alabama has a lot of great tradition, a good coaching staff, and they are stable. Coach Sparky Woods has been my recruiting coach. He is a good guy and a good recruiter," said Davis.
"I am going to wait until after my last visit. I want to get a good feel of the school before I make a commitment," Davis added.
Davis spent the past week in Spartanburg, South Carolina, for the annual Shrine Bowl game. The Shrine Bowl showcased the top talent from North Carolina and South Carolina. South Carolina won the game 35-21. Davis had a good game and talked about several other top players.
"It was really good. I scored a touchdown in the game. I was able to play with a lot of great players like C.J. Byrd, Eric Huggins, and Hivera Green."
