Blackwell Visits Chancellor

Demerick Chancellor, one of the top athletes in Florida, received a visit from Clemson Coach David Blackwell on Tuesday as he practiced for the Nike All-star game.

Clemson recruiting coordinator David Blackwell flew to Miami on Tuesday to meet with 6-1, 185 pound speedster Demerick Chancellor.

"He came out to watch me practice today for the Nike All-star game. He came when I was taking my physical so we didn't get to talk much. We couldn't talk during practice and he had to leave to catch a flight. I am going to give him a call to talk more," Chancellor told CUTigers.com.

Chancellor says he is a man of his word and Tiger fans have nothing to worry about. "Yes I am firm with Clemson. I keep my word."

Interestingly enough, even though he is firm in his commitment, he does plan on taking one more official visit. "I'm going to take a visit to North Carolina sometime in January," stated the prize recruit.

Chancellor will visit Clemson for his official visit on January 14.

As he prepares for the all-star game, Chancellor continues working hard to prepare for the next level. "I'm in the weight room and I will be running track. After the All-star game I will really hit the weights hard. I'm going to be 200 by August."

Chancellor will also be working hard in the classroom over the next few months to make sure he is qualified. "I have a 2.6 GPA and I have a 16 on my ACT. I will be taking the SAT on Saturday."

Coach Bowden plans to visit the Tiger commitment later in January. "Coach Bowden will be down the week after I take my official visit," stated Chancellor.

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding athlete from Florida, right up through signing day 2005.
