With just a month until signing day, the Tigers and Hokies are even for 4-star running back James Davis.

The 6-0, 205 pound prospect continues to receive a full court press from Clemson Head Coach Tommy Bowden and Virginia Tech Head Coach Frank Beamer. "I talked to Coach Bowden last night. I also just talked to Coach Ward from Virginia Tech," Davis told in a recent interview.

The Tech coaching staff will travel to Douglass High on Wednesday to meet with the prize recruit. "Virginia Tech is coming to see me at the school tomorrow. Coach Beamer, Coach Ward and the offensive coordinator are all coming to see me," said Davis.

What did Davis think of the Hokies performance in the Sugar Bowl? "It was a good game. They are in desperate need of a running back."

Davis believes he could see early playing time if he selects Virginia Tech. "They are telling me I have a chance to play early. I think I could go up there and play next year."

The Tigers held the lead over the Hokies in December, but things are now even for the Georgia standout. "They are about the same now," stated Davis.

When will the 4-star running back make his decision? "I want to take the visit to Clemson on the 14th. Then I should be able to make my decision. I want to see if I like the people I around at Clemson. I really like it at Virginia Tech. Let's see how I like it at Clemson.

"After I visit Clemson, I'll know for sure."
