Pinecrest High School
Southern Pines, North Carolina
The 6-foot5, 250-pound prospect had an in-home visit from South Carolina coach Rick Stockstill earlier this week. "It was okay. He wanted to know if I am still going to come this weekend. I told him that I am going to take the visit," Murchinson told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.
Murchinson also talked with Clemson coach Ron West this week. "Coach West called last night. He just wanted to know if I was still coming to Clemson for the visit. He wanted to know if I was going to South Carolina this weekend. He said he didn't have any problems with me going," said Murchison.
The North Carolina standout does not plan to take any visits other than his trips to South Carolina and Clemson.
When asked if he is firm how firm his commitment was to the Clemson, Murchinson responded, "I'm pretty firm."
The Pinecrest standout says Tiger fans should not be worried. "I'm 100 percent sure I'm going to sign with Clemson," stated Murchinson.
Murchinson is showing his outstanding athletic ability on the court now that football is over. "I'm doing pretty well. We are nine and three. I am averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds. I am leading the conference in rebounds," said the future Tiger.
What would it take for South Carolina to pull even with the Tigers? "To me there is no comparison. I'm just going to have some fun and see what South Carolina is all about."
We will continue to keep you updated this outstanding athlete from North Carolina, right up through signing day 2005.
