Alonzo Higgins told CUTigers.com he will indeed be coming to Clemson University to play football.

He'll have a quick stop first however.

"Coach Dula confirmed for me around Christmas that Coach West wants me at Clemson," said Higgins. "I've spoken to Coach West since then, and he said that they have accepted my commitment and that I will be placed at Southwest Mississippi."

Higgins added that he will go to summer school at Southwest Mississippi this July and should be able to enroll in Clemson in January of 2007.

"I want to be able to enroll there in the spring," said Higgins.

Higgins, who has been favoring Clemson throughout the recruiting process, was voted to the Shrine Bowl this past season.

"He will sign with Clemson and Southwest Mississippi," confirmed Southwest Miss JC head coach Dom Green to CUTigers.com. "I have heard that he is the best linebacker in South Carolina. I plan to play him at outside linebacker."

CUTigers.com will keep you updated on this top linebacker prospect, right up through signing day.
