The 5-10, 155 pound prospect decided on Wednesday that it was time to join his brother as a commitment to Clemson. "I'm really excited. I spoke with my parents, my uncle and my coach about the decision. Everyone agreed that Clemson was the best place for me," said Chancellor.
"I called Coach Blackwell around lunch. He was wild. He was glad I'm ready to come to Clemson. Coach Bowden tried to call but my cell phone was dead."
When asked if his commitment is firm, Chancellor said, "Yeah, it's over. I'm coming to Clemson."
"I am glad I will get to play with my brother. Clemson will have one of us on each side of the ball. My family won't have to travel across the country to see us play."
The Florida standout is also glad that he now has his decision behind him. "Yeah, it feels good. I am glad to get it off my back. Now I can move on with my life. I can get ready to go to Clemson," said Chancellor.
Chancellor will be showing his speed on the track over the next few months. "I'm running track right now. After track is over I will hit weight room. I am running the 100, the four by 100 relay and I also do the long jump. My best long jump is 22 feet."
Some Clemson fans have wondered if Chris and his brother Demerick are twins. As it turns out, they are not. "No, I am 11 months younger than my brother," stated the talented cornerback.
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding cornerback from Florida, right up through signing day 2005.
