Thomas Austin Heads to Clemson

The 6-foot-4, 290 pound prospect will be heading to Clemson this Friday as he takes his only official visit of the year. "I am leaving for Clemson Friday afternoon. They want us there by five o'clock or so. I will be coming with my parents and my sister Rebecca. My brother Joshua has a wresting tournament," said Thomas in a recent interview with

The prize recruit is looking forward to spending time with his Shrine Bowl teammate Barry Humphries during this weekend. "I have talked to him probably once or twice since the Shrine Bowl. I'm looking forward to seeing him this weekend and rooming together this summer. We've built a good friendship," said Austin.

Austin's father has also build a good friendship with Barry's father during the Shrine Bowl week. "Yeah, our dad's watched the practices together. They went out one day and had lunch," said the future Tiger. What is Austin looking forward to the most about his official visit? "It's a good opportunity for my parents to see school. My mom is looking forward to meeting with the academic advisor.

"It will be a good trip. I'm definitely coming to Clemson so I'm not looking to be sold this weekend. I just plan to relax and enjoy the time away."

Austin is also planning to hit the weight room hard once his wrestling season is complete. "I will start lifting more after the season. I may do some weight lifting competitions. I'm not sure about that," said the Camden star lineman.

"I'm also going to be coming to Clemson this summer for the second summer session. I want to get a jump on things. I want to workout with the team and get in the best shape possible."
