Defensive lineman James McKinney deciced to postpone his college choice until Signing Day. GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke with McKinney Sunday and he gave his timeline, and reasons for waiting until the end.
Defensive lineman James McKinney of Central High School in Louisville, Ky., stated earlier today that he may make his announcement today regarding his choice of college.
GoBlueWolverine Magazine spoke again this afternoon with the big man and he told us he has postponed his announcement. "I'm going to make my announcement on Feb. 2 at 10:00 a.m.," he said. "I'm down to Michigan, Clemson and Florida. Clemson has made a big push recently and I need to look at some more things before I can decide."
One school that was thought to be in the mix, Nebraska, is no longer under consideration. "I haven't heard from (Nebraska) since the Army game," he said. "So I'm not going there."
McKinney said he will be glad when the process is over with, but wants to give each of his final schools close examination. He also told us the reason for the time of his announcement.
"I want to get it out there before the coaches have their press conferences," he said. "I think Coach Carr has his at 12:00, Coach Bowden's is at 12:30 and Coach Meyer's is at 1:00. I was going to do it at 1:00 but since I want to be considerate of the coaches' time-table I'll do it earlier."
We will continue to keep yo updated on James McKinney, right up through signing day.
