LB Rodney Paulk
6-0, 195, 4.7
Richland Northeast High School
Columbia, South Carolina
The 6-foot, 195 pound linebacker made 105 tackles with 20 quarterback hurries, five sacks, and fourteen tackles for loss, and he is trying to get in front of the college coaches as much as possible.
"Some of the schools I am hearing from are like USC, Clemson, North Carolina, and East Carolina pretty much so far, and I also like Georgia and Auburn," says Paulk. "They want me to go to the camps pretty much so I can see more about the school and atmosphere. I'm going to the Clemson camp, I'm going to the East Carolina camp this 27th of February, North Carolina has a junior day and I'm going to be going to that."
The question for most schools is trying to figure out where exactly to play him at the next level.
"I might play defensive back or linebacker, but I like outside linebacker. I'm real aggressive, I like to hit, and they will go down before I do."
Paulk is an attacking linebacker, but with his size he could find himself playing safety. His play at the camps will end up as a vital piece of the puzzle in earning scholarship offers. Until that time, Paulk is still trying to do his own research into the schools, and he has several keys to finding the right place.
"I want a good education pretty much, I want to see the coaches, I want prestige, the atmosphere, how the defense likes to play and see if it is aggressive."
We will continue to keep you updated Rodney Paulk right up through signing day 2006.
